Armed Security Course Package - June 3, 2024 through June 7

The Armed Security Officer Package consists of three courses (01E Core Security Officer, 05E Arrest Authority, 75E Security Officer Handgun) Monday-Friday for a total for 50 hours of training as certified by the Virginia Dept. of Criminal Justice Services to become registered as an Armed Security Officer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. A comprehensive exam follows each of the three courses.

The entry level curriculum for armed security officer/courier and alarm respondent sets forth the following areas identified as:

I. Orientation to Security
     A. Code of Virginia and Regulations Relating to Private Security Services
     B. Code of Ethics and Law

     C. General Duties and Responsibilities
     D. Signs of Terrorism
     E. Security Patrol, Access Control, and Communications

II. Arrest Authority Powers

Course information and content will be provided to each student in a binder format.

For the classroom portion, please bring your handgun, (unloaded), in the holster on your belt, as well as your unloaded magazines. NO LIVE AMMO INSIDE THE BUILDING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

If you do not own a firearm, you may rent one at the range for $10 if they are available (outside of our hands, entirely based on what the range can provide), however you will need to purchase your own holster for that specific firearm and source additional magazines, for a total of 3 magazines.

As of November 2021 our Firearm Courses are priced to include range fees; targets available at range.

Handgun

Outside the Waistband Holster, (duty holster preferred but any quality outside the wasitband holster will be sufficient)

3 magazines 

100 rounds of ammunition in the correct caliber

Pants with belt loops and a STURDY Belt!

Close-toed shoes - no sandles, crocs, etc
